Anurag Kumar, born in Bokaro Steel city, India, on the 7th of November, 1976. His early childhood was spent in a typical middle-class environment, he grew up embracing those values with his father, a music teacher and mother, a housewife.
After finishing the school in Bokaro Steel City, he left to Ukraine in 1997 to get a higher education. In 2003 he graduated from Odessa Maritime Academy and pursued a master degree in marine engineering.
The Founder’s Odyssey
My journey in medicine started at a young age. As a child I have always dreamt of becoming a doctor as I wanted to serve people and aspired to make them healthy and happy. This thought has remained one of the most essential aspects of my life to this day.
When I was a 3rd year student of maritime academy year 2001 I started working as a sales manager in a pharmaceutical company. That experience enriched my maturity and desire to set up my own company.
My first self-owned enterprise Progress Pharma was founded in 2004. It is fully integrated company consisting of marketing and distribution of medicine, para medicine and cosmetic products of top Indian manufacturers with the expertise of highly qualified marketing team. Meanwhile, targeting another segment, Denis Pharma was founded for retail pharmacies. Progress Pharma fostered rapid growth, and in 2007 we started working with national distributors, importing, and exporting pharmaceuticals.
In 2010 we commenced our first drugstore and to the end of 2020 we established a chain of 144 professional pharmacies under the brand name “ BE HEALTHY TOGETHER”. As every business has a peak of their cycle time, I decided to cash out and discharged the business by making a deal with the 6th largest pharmacy retail chain of Ukraine, the value of the deal was the first largest deal in the history of Ukraine in this particular segment. The Progress Pharma Group has a strong customer relationship management and one of the best on-the-day logistics system in place across the country.
I have always aspired to create a name as one of the renowned people in Ukraine and let my work speak volumes. Being a foreigner from a far away world, I took this challenge of providing the best service in the health sector.

In the year 2015, our company acquired a manufacturing unit in India through a foreign investment plan of Government of India (FIBP), investing approximately $6 Millions and by the name “THE BIODEAL PHARMACEUTICAL LTD”. Biodeal is a fully integrated Manufacturing, international & domestic Marketing Organization , located in Himachal Pradesh and has been growing its global providers in Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics and Nutraceuticals which are WHO GMP approved.
Biodeal offers branded formulations as well as Products on Contract manufacturing for International and Domestic markets. We deal in Tablet, Capsule, Creams, Ointment, Powder, Lotion, Sathched and Dry Powder Inhalers. The pioneer product manufacturing is in the field of NASAL SPRAYS.

Before I conclude, I’d want to share a personal reflection of my journey:
Coming to the centre of my universe, My family is my top priority in life. In the year 2002, I was blessed with a son named Denis, which became the inspiration for the company’s name, Denis Pharma. I have two more children, Darsh (born in 2015) and Diana (born in 2019). My Kids are the reasons for my existence, the essence of my each day.
One of my essential key are the people who work for the organisation. My team is my main source of solidity, earning and catalyst, allowing me to be stronger and more successful in the market. In this way, my team is still the pillar and the most vital asset in my success story.
If someone asks me what my life’s slogan is, I came up with in sixth grade at my school & it goes like this: “Work like a coolie and live like a prince”.
When it comes to my passion, I enjoy preparing great meals for my guests, and as a result, I own a restaurant in the heart of Odessa. I also really take pleasure in travelling and capturing captivating pictures and memories.
